Originally from Houston, TX, Amy Danheim graduated from the University of North Texas with a Bachelor of Arts in Music on Double Bass in 2018. While she was studying, she started her lutherie journey at the UNT Instrument Repair shop as a Student Repair Assistant in the Spring of 2015 and was encouraged to take on large restoration projects from day one. Amy was trained in a conservation-minded restoration tradition, and is committed to continuously learning new techniques from her peers. In addition to exciting repairs and restorations, she also enjoys the unique challenges of working with local schools and students, to keep music in the hands of as many students as possible.
